Maryland Leadership Workshops (MLW) is pleased to announce the installment of the new Board of Directors overseeing the mission and finances of this well-established non-profit organization. In its first 56 years, this leadership training organization has served over 19,000 middle and high school students from across the State of Maryland during weeklong summer residential programs and community outreach programs throughout the year.
The newly installed Board of Directors will promote the organization throughout the state, forge new partnerships and help secure new revenue streams to support student participation. Representatives from the private, governmental and non-profit sectors as well as alumni and a current student serve on the Board and all have a personal connection to the organization. The Board of Directors is chaired by Eliot Pfansteihl, himself a graduate of the program.
“This is an exciting and important development for our organization that has successfully existed to date thanks to the intense loyalty and involvement of those who know it best,” says Mr. Pfansteihl. “The new Board will allow us to grow and serve an increasingly diverse and talented pool of students throughout the state.”
Ron Dhindsa will continue to serve as President of the Program Board which runs the summer and community outreach programs.
Space is still available for all programs and interested persons are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Limited financial assistance may be available for students with demonstrated need. The week long programs are held at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland and run from July 24 through August 6, 2011.
